This summer I have been focusing on the last studio class I will ever take for my degree. Sad but feeling great at the same time (I have been in school ever since I was five with no real breaks in between — I am EXHAUSTED!), I am preparing for a “pre-thesis” show that opens at Desotorow Gallery on September 18th, 2009. Here are some examples of the things I have been working on.
Incorporating gouache paint and the laser cutter I am working with layers to achieve a transition from natural to stylized pattern. For this show I am only using the Kudzu vine or “the vine that ate the south”.
